Information Disclosure System
The information disclosure system ensures the public's right to know by allowing individuals to access information produced, received, and managed by public institutions, including national and local government agencies. This system encourages public participation in governance based on greater transparency and access to information.
Eligible Applicants

All Citizens
Any and all individual can request information disclosure from public institutions, either directly or through a representative. -

Corporations and Organizations
Corporations and organizations may request information disclosure in the name of their representative. -

Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals may request information disclosure if they; reside in Korea with a fixed address; temporarily stay in Korea for academic or research purposes; or, represent a corporation or organization with an office in Korea.
Accessible Information
- 01 Information managed by public institutions including documents (including electronic documents), drawings, photographs, films, tapes, slides, and other media or records created or acquired in the course of official duties.

Relationship with records under the Public Records Management Act
Any and all "records information materials," such as documents, books, registers, cards, drawings, audiovisual materials, and electronic records created or received by public institutions in the course of official work, are subject to information disclosure requests.
